Edward is a Co-founder and Managing Partner of Longbow.
Edward has advised on, participated in and led investments in over twenty early stage companies across a broad range of sectors. Edward sits as an alternate director on the Board of Lustre, having retired from the board of Direct Health upon its successful sale in 2012 and from Ludgate Investments in 2004 when Longbow was established. He is also a director of Daveney Ltd a private leisure and hotel property business. Edward has undertaken a wide range of venture capital, project finance and investment initiatives across business services, technology development and property sectors.
Ron is a Co-founder and Investment Partner of Longbow.
Ron provides management assistance to portfolio companies, while reviewing new business opportunities and investment portfolios. Ron has acted as the Managing Director of the Boots Centre for Innovation and CEO of CyDen Ltd. Ron is the Investor Director at Calon and Lustre. Ron possesses more than four decades of industrial management experience. He spent over 20 years with Armstrong World Industries, managing global businesses from its London base. In 1992, Ron began to specialise in turning underperforming or early stage companies into profitable and valued concerns. Examples of companies with which he has been involved in this way include Insituform Group Ltd., Bridon plc, Brunel Holdings plc, Oystertec plc. and NanoBeam Ltd.
Bill is a member of Longbow’s Management Committee.
Bill is the Chairman and owner of Cogent Elliott Group (the longest established UK independent advertising agency). Bill has over 40 years of marketing communication experience with clients ranging from Jaguar to Jewson and Milton Keynes to Maryland Cookies. Bill also has a wealth of VCS experience, including Director of Welsh National Opera, Development Council - City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Chairman of the Lady Katherine Leveson Foundation, Chairman of the Birmingham NSPCC Centenary Appeal, Former President of the Birmingham NSPCC and Trustee of Thinktank, (Museum of Science & Technology. Bill is an active Council member of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, a member of the ISBA, CIM and The Marketing Society.
Jonathan is a co-founder of Longbow and is a member of Longbow’s Management Committee.
After an initial military career Jonathan joined Newton Investment Management, where he rose to become Marketing Director through a period of substantial growth, leading up to its sale to Bank of New York Mellon. Following a further term as head of Mellon’s international investment business, Jonathan became a non-executive director with Bedlam Asset Management and an executive Chairman of Ludgate Investments, prior to founding Longbow Capital, as the partnership Chairman.
Colin Bothway is a co-founder of Longbow is a member of Longbow’s Management Committee.
Colin is Chairman of Daveney, a private leisure and investment company and was previously a founder and non-executive director of Ludgate Investments. Colin has been an active entrepreneur and investor in early stage companies for more than 25 years.
Freya Carter is Longbow's Executive Partnership Administrator.
Freya's role is to ensure the consistent and professional relationship with all Partners, Clients, Custodians, and other key parties. Freya is an experienced Executive Assistant spending the majority of her working career assisting in the planning of many Royal Norfolk Shows, specialising in the successful execution of Royal and Dignitary visits to the Showground. Seeking to develop her career Freya joined Longbow in May 2022.
