RepRegen is an emerging medical device company using patent-pending repair and regeneration technology in two platforms designed to mend and regrow tissue in the body.
RepRegenIn October 2009, we completed an investment into RepRegen (formally known as Bioceramic Therapeutics Ltd), a developer of smart materials that accelerate bone tissue growth.

Longbow was joined by Imperial Innovations, The Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and Comvest to bring the total investment to £1.2m.

RepRegen’s technology has a wide range of applications such as bone graft substitute to treat bone diseases and dental applications such as improved toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

At the same time, Stephan Rietiker was promoted to the position of Executive Chairman and Ian Brown to the position of CEO. Both have enormous expertise from the medical device industry, in particular orthopaedics where they have led both large and emerging companies.

RepRegen, a spinout company from the Department of Materials at Imperial College, have modified this technology to create a superior bioactive glass. They have developed two technology platforms, termed the BCT-000 series (hard tissue), and the BCT-100 series (soft tissue). The material shows increased bioactivity and anti-bacterial properties. In addition, the ions, particularly strontium have a long history of safety and efficacy in medicine.
