The life enhancement and wellbeing sectors have continued to expand, regardless of economic uncertainly. Demand for new healthcare solutions is driven by a range of factors such as aging populations, increased affluence, scientific advances and the growth of chronic diseases.
Investment CriteriaLongbow invests in life enhancement and wellbeing companies that have excellent growth prospects and experienced management teams.

There are a number of characteristics that define the companies in which we invest. These include:

Company valuations between £2m-£10m at point of investment;

Management teams that are well balanced between the three elements of leadership, marketing and finance;

A company carrying on an EIS qualifying trade;

The prospect of exiting the investment after three years.

Longbow will assess an investment against criteria in order to assess the kind and level of risk:

Strong intellectual property protection;

The nature of the market for its products; size; maturity; receptiveness to new technologies/products; competitor response;

The quality of the management team;

Regulatory risk including capital and time required to market the product;

The amount of additional funding required prior to exit and possible dilution;

Multiple potential trade exit routes.

From time to time Longbow will consider investing outside the life enhancement and wellbeing sectors; however, this would only be in exceptional circumstances.
